Organizing Committee

Strategic Knowledge Cluster on Early Child Development

The goal of the Strategic Knowledge Cluster on Early Child Development (SKC-ECD) is to mobilize basic and applied ECD knowledge in an integrated way to promote the establishment of optimal conditions of development for all young Canadian children. Set up in 2007 thanks to a generous grant from the Canadian Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, the cluster contributes, among other things, to the Encyclopedia on Early Childhood Development. Its work is carried out through a pan-Canadian, multidisciplinary network of experts, students, service providers and organizations extending to the international arena.

Centre of Excellence for Early Childhood Development

The mandate of the Centre of Excellence for Early Childhood Development (CEECD) is to consolidate expert knowledge on the social and emotional development of children and to share it broadly with those who need it most, including parents, health practitioners, educators, service providers and policy-makers. The Centre operates under the administrative leadership of the Université de Montréal and partners with a robust network of Canadian health, social service and research organizations including the CHU Sainte-Justine Research Center, Université Laval, the Canadian Paediatric Society, the Lucie and André Chagnon Foundation, the Alberta Centre for Child, Family, & Community Research and the Margaret & Wallace McCain Family Foundation.
